1. Who we are
This website is Praneel Physics (praneelphysics.com), a free A-level Physics revision platform run by Praneel Agrawal. References to "we", "us" or "our" in this policy refer to Praneel Physics.

2. What data we collect
Account data
When you register or log in, we collect:
- Your email address and display name (provided during sign-up)
- A unique user ID generated by Firebase Authentication
- Whether your email address has been verified
- Your subscription status (free or premium)
Usage data stored in your account
When you use features of the site while logged in, we store the following in our database:
- Pranki: your flashcard decks, cards, study history and spaced repetition statistics
- MCQs: your quiz attempts and scores
- The P-Board: a daily usage count (to enforce free-tier limits); conversation context is sent to our AI provider for the duration of your session but is not permanently stored by us
- Professor P: conversation messages for the duration of your session; not stored permanently
- AI Examiner: submitted answers and AI feedback for the duration of your session; not stored permanently
Payment data
If you purchase a premium subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe provides us with a customer ID and subscription status only. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent to us via Brevo (our email delivery provider) and received in our inbox. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Technical data
Like all websites, our server receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit when you access the site. This data is used for security and abuse prevention only and is not linked to your account.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and maintain your account and the features associated with it
- To enforce free-tier usage limits and provide premium access to paying subscribers
- To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
- To respond to contact form messages
- To understand how the site is used in aggregate (via Google Analytics) so we can improve it
- To protect the site against abuse (rate limiting, spam prevention)
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services which may process your data:

5. Cookies and local storage
Strictly necessary
- Session cookie - keeps you logged in during your visit. Expires when you close your browser or log out.
Analytics
- _ga, _gid, _gat - Google Analytics cookies that help us understand site usage in aggregate. These do not identify you personally. You can opt out via Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
- Google AdSense - if you have consented to advertising cookies, AdSense may set cookies to show you relevant ads. You can manage your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Local storage (not cookies)
We use your browser's local storage for the following purposes, which never leave your device:
- Saving your whiteboard drawings between sessions
- Remembering your dark/light theme preference
- Tracking which PP News updates you have already seen
6. Your rights under UK GDPR
If you are based in the UK or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access - you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification - you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure - you can ask us to delete your account and associated data
- Restriction - you can ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Portability - you can request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection - you can object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact form. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
7. Data retention
- Account data - retained for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our database.
- Pranki decks and cards - stored until you delete them or delete your account
- MCQ history - retained for as long as your account is active
- Contact form messages - retained in our inbox until manually deleted, typically within 12 months
- Payment records - Stripe retains payment records in accordance with their own retention policy and applicable financial regulations
8. Children
Praneel Physics is designed for A-level students (typically aged 16 and over). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
